Happy birthday to me

My birthday’s Friday, and not only will my sweet wife make for me a birthday pie — much prefered to cake by yours truly — I can celebrate the 1,000th download of my song “Gethsemane.”

Do you want to be part of the second thousand? Just click on the downloads link in the sidebar, or just click here.

And don’t forget to come by the Anchor Room Friday evening for my coffee house gig.

My new blog

The Kirkcentric blog is closed, but hey! Maybe you’ll be interested in my new blog over at my main web site.

Your comments are welcome over there, and you can subscribe to that blog just like a few of you subscribed to Kirkcentric.

Hope to see you there!

‘A low-maintenance person’

From a Time magazine Q & A with “Sex and the City” author Candace Bushnell, whose new novel, “Lipstick Jungle,” is “about three fabulous fortysomething women in New York City”:

What kind of lipstick do you use? I actually use Chap Stick. I’m a fairly low-maintenance person.

How many pairs of shoes do you have? I probably don’t have that many pairs. Maybe 60? But I know that’s really not many.

You sound almost guilty. I do feel really guilty about it, because I feel like I should have more. But how many pairs of shoes can you wear?

How many pairs of shoes do most women even own? From Yahoo Finance:

Most women keep nearly two dozen pairs of shoes in their closets, with 14 pairs in rotation, says Marshal Cohen, chief industry analyst for The NPD Group, which tracks retail sales and trends.

Welcome to the new web site

I’m a lazy person. And I’m tired of wrestling HTML coding. So I have converted my home page to a blog run by the folks at Blogger.

I hope to update this site with more frequency than I did my old yellow one.

I may even post some photos from my gigs. That would be fun! (For me.)

So, again, welcome. And your comments are also, um, welcome.

Anchor Room gig

I am scheduled to play The Anchor Room the first Friday of every other month. Next gig there will be Friday, September 2.

Get details, including maps and directions, on the engagements page.

I am looking for other places to sing my songs. If you have a recommendation, please contact me.
